Standard Nibs have a rounded shape at the tip of the writing point giving smooth, free flowing writing & a uniform line. Suited to left & right hand style.

Italic Nibs have a sharp straight cut tip, finished with a flat pellet. This gives a thick line in one direction and a thin lines at right angles to that direction thus giving the italic presentaion.

Oblique/Reverse Oblique Nibs are precision cut obliquely to compensate for extreme writing angles. The nib is fitted with a rounded pellet allowing the pen to write smoothly in all directions.

Nibs (alone) are sold as being in perfect condition upon despatch and fitting same is the purchaser's responsibility. It is recommended you download & study the 9 page instruction & information file:-

The following table uses the following terminology:- (with apologies for the complexity, but there is really no other way !!!) The format is: Pen Model followed with the acronyms for nib shape, material, style (where applicable e.g. oblique)

NP = Needlepoint, XF = Extra Fine, F = Fine, M = Medium, B = Broad, XB = Extra Broad, XXB = Extra Extra Broad, ITAL = Straight Italic (with F for fine, M for Medium or B for Broad as the 5th letter), LOBL(= Oblique 15 degree left with F for fine, M for Medium or B for Broad as the 5th letter ), ROBL = Oblique 15 degree right, GP = 18K Gold/Platinum Highlight, RPG = Rhodium Plated 18K Gold , G18= 18K Gold Plated, G18R = 18K Gold Rhodium Highlight, G23 = 23K Gold Plated, SS = Stainless Steel.

So, for example, XB RPG LOBL = Extra Broad, Rhodium Plated 18K Gold , Oblique 15 degree left.
